Reparations at Operndorf Afrika

Together with Francis Kéré, we have opted for a sustainable form of construction. This means that locally available raw materials such as clay, sand and stone are processed primarily using traditional construction methods. This allows local people to build the projects independently and repair them afterwards. Thanks to Francis Kéré’s architecture, our buildings are of a much higher quality than the typical concrete buildings in the country – but they are also more expensive. After more than ten years, the first buildings currently need to be repaired so that we can continue to create an indoor climate, where people like to stay, live and learn.
