Covid-19 vaccination campaign

Covid-19 continues to circulate in a population in Burkina Faso that is not protected by collective immunity.

The Minister of Health and Public Hygiene, Dr. Robert Kargougou, launched an official campaign to intensify vaccination against Covid-19 in the Ziniaré region on Monday, August 1, 2022. To date, more than 1,640,000 people have been fully vaccinated against Covid-19 in Burkina Faso, representing 10.6% of the target of 15,500,000 people. Thus, at least 100,000 vaccinated people are expected to be vaccinated within this week for the locality of Ziniaré around the opera village of Africa.

Dr. Kargougou took the opportunity to appeal to all Burkinabè that at the end of this series of campaigns in the different localities of the country, at least 1,000,000 people should be vaccinated: “We must mobilize again to vaccinate against Covid-19 so that we prevent the emergence of new variants that could cause us even more problems in the humanitarian context that already prevails,” urged the Minister.

Thanks to your support, Opera Village Africa has also been carrying out educational work in the surrounding villages since the beginning of the pandemic. We would like to continue to support the staff of our health clinic and provide the necessary medicines and medical equipment for the population of the surrounding villages.

In order to be able to continue to implement the necessary preventive measures and to support the staff of the Operndorf Infirmary in the treatment of Covid-19 diseases, we now urgently need your financial support!
