Terra Verde excursion
As a non-profit organisation, the Terra Verde Association provides the rural population in Burkina Faso with access to information about agriculture and environmental protection. More than 70 percent of the Burkinabe live in the countryside, but hardly anyone knows the current state of their own environment and the consequences of the destruction of savannahs and forests.
In addition to training for farmers, Terra Verde also offers courses in environmental education to school classes. Thus, the pupils, teachers and the team of the Opera Village Africa were able to learn more about the ecological footprint of poor and rich countries, climate change and the overexploitation of local soils on more than 32 display boards.
A big thanks to Terra Verde for making this exciting and educational excursion possible.
