Successful School Graduation at the Opera Village
In July, the school year at the Opera Village came to a close with a festive graduation ceremony – a moving and proud moment for our students, teachers, and their families. The annual celebration is always a highlight of the academic calendar, and once again this year, all graduating students successfully passed their primary school exams! This achievement is anything but a given under current conditions. At a time when many schools across Burkina Faso remain closed due to instability and crisis, the Opera Village provides a safe and stable environment for education, community, and growth – demonstrating the vital importance of ongoing support. During the ceremony, the five top-performing students from each class were honored for their outstanding efforts. They received a package of school supplies to help them prepare for the new school year – a gift that not only supports their daily learning but also offers encouragement and recognition. Special thanks went to Nicole Ilboudou Ilboudo, the teacher of the graduating class. With great dedication, patience, and care, she guided her students through the exam preparations and played a key role in their success.
For many families in the region, the Opera Village is more than just a school. Every day, around 300 children not only receive education but also a warm meal, clean drinking water, and a safe environment. In the face of difficult living conditions, the Opera Village offers stability and the opportunity for children to grow, learn, and thrive. Your donation helps preserve this place of hope. Just €50 can provide around 150 nutritious meals – nearly half of the daily requirement in our school canteen. Every contribution counts and helps ensure lasting access to education and food security for children in the region.
