Unbound Geographies: Bodies and Stories within the Fortress

As part of the Unbound Geographies workshop, developed through our collaboration with the International Summer Academy of Fine Arts Salzburg, the participants continued their collective research today within the spaces of Hohensalzburg Fortress. Drawing on the site’s history and architecture, they explored how bodies and stories can be reimagined within this historic context.

Through performative exercises, the fortress became a space of memory and inquiry: How do its walls, pathways, and courtyards shape our perception? What stories are embedded within these spaces, and which new narratives can emerge through movement, presence, and collective artistic practice?

The results of the three-week workshop will be presented during a public presentation on 7 August 2026 at the Institute for Open Arts, Mozarteum University Salzburg.
