Save the Date: Jonathan Meese’s work as a charity lottery benefiting the Opera Village Africa at the GRISEBACH Summer Auction

The auction house Grisebach is supporting us again this year with a charity lottery. For the Summer Auction 2024, the renowned artist Jonathan Meese generously provided us with his work “HERE IS DRUSILLA LUCRETIA DE KUNST!” (2023). The proceeds from the auction will go entirely to our projects in Burkina Faso!

Jonathan Meese on his work: THE ERZMEESEBILD “HERE IS DRUSILLA LUCRETIA DE KUNST!” IS A TOTAL DECLARATION OF LOVE TO THE WONDERFUL “MUPPET SHOW” AS A TOTAL ARTWORK AND SPECIFICALLY TO THE GREATEST, MOST EXTREMELY INDEPENDENT, AND RADICALLY SELF-CONFIDENT STORY MISS PIGGY! “MISSPIGGYMEESE” IS A SELF-PORTRAIT OF JONATHAN MEESE AS THE GOLDEN, SOMEWHAT DEVILISH, AND RESOLUTE FIGHTER OF ART! MISS PIGGY IS FOR ME A PRIME EXAMPLE OF THE MOST TOTAL INDEPENDENCE, GREATEST ASSERTIVENESS, ARCH CHEEKINESS, AND LOVING LOUDNESS, AS WELL AS PIPPI LONGSTOCKING, ALEX DE LARGE, BARBARELLA, LUCRETIA, FANTOMAS, ALASKA KID, RICHARD WAGNER, PARSIFAL, DRUSILLA, AND ZED FROM ZARDOZ. MISSPIGGYMEESE WEARS THE USUAL MEESE UNIFORM AND IS THE ART CHILD WHO PLAYS WITHOUT IDEOLOGY AND POINTS TO THE FUTURE AND DOES EVERYTHING WITH THE MOST UNINHIBITED LOVE AND DEVOTION. MISSPIGGYMEESE IS ALWAYS THE MOST TOTAL FREEDOM, WHICH SHE CELEBRATES EXTENSIVELY WITH KERMIT, THE FROG! MISSPIGGYMEESE IS ALSO THE DEAREST FRIEND OF MUMINMEESE; AFTER ALL, ART IS ALWAYS THE MOST TOTAL FAMILY! MISSPIGGYMEESE IS THE “BATTLE FOR ART”! MISSPIGGYMEESE IS TOTAL LOVE! MISSPIGGYMEESE ALWAYS MAKES “CLEAR SHIP” AT HOME! ALL POWER TO ART, ART TO POWER! ALL LOVE, YOUR JOHNNY, THE ARTKID 2024!
