Art Summer Camp for Children from Ziniaré at the Opera Village
During the summer holidays, we are organizing a holiday camp at the Opera Village for students from Ziniaré and the surrounding villages. From August 19 to 30, we will provide the children with the opportunity to explore and develop their talents in pottery, cooking, and utilitarian painting:
Pottery Workshop with Yerbanga Emmanuel: Renowned potter Yerbanga Emmanuel from the Central Plateau will introduce participants to the techniques of creating utilitarian objects from clay. The children will have the chance to design their own tools and items, which will then be kiln-fired to ensure their durability.
Cooking Workshop with Agnès Tarnagda: Under the guidance of Agnès Tarnagda, a former student of the Ziniaré vocational training center, the children will learn to prepare various treats such as pizzas, spring rolls, cookies, and chocolate cakes. Each day will feature a different menu, providing a varied culinary experience. We emphasize gender equality in cooking and encourage both girls and boys to engage with culinary skills.
Utilitarian Painting Workshop with Segson: Artist Segson will lead a unique workshop where children will paint not on traditional canvases but on everyday objects such as plates, cups, and old CDs. Our goal is to teach the technique of naive art and make art accessible to everyone by using simple, inexpensive materials.
At the end of the artistic holiday camp, we will organize a public presentation in the presence of parents. This event will give the children the opportunity to showcase their work and share their artistic experiences with their families and the community.
