Unser Residenzk\u00fcnstler des Jahrgangs 2015 Tobias Dostal wird mit dem 6. Horst-Janssen-Grafikpreis der Claus H\u00fcppe-Stiftung ausgezeichnet. Er verbinde in seinen Arbeiten die Elemente Zeichnung, Film und Installation auf einzigartige Weise, hie\u00df es in der Begr\u00fcndung der Jury. Dabei entwickele vor allem die im Operndorf Afrika entstandene filmische Dokumentation eine besondere Magie: \u201a\u2018sie ist technisch ausgekl\u00fcgelt und in ihrer Wirkung zugleich poetisch\u2019\u2019, so die funfk\u00f6pfige Jury, bestehend aus Dr. Nicole Deufel, Leiterin der st\u00e4dtischen Museen in Oldenburg, Dr. Jutta Moster-Hoos (Leiterin Horst-Janssen-Museum Oldenburg), Dirk Dobke (Leiter der Griffelkunstvereinigung in Hamburg), Professor Dr. Wulf Herzogenrath (Akademie der K\u00fcnste Berlin) und Rik Reining (freier Kurator und Kunstsammler aus Hamburg).<\/p>\n

Von 2004 bis 2011 studierte Dostal Freie Kunst an der Hochschule f\u00fcr Bildende K\u00fcnste Braunschweig. 2012 war er Meistersch\u00fcler bei Thomas Virnich und wurde 2013 mit dem New York-Stipendium der Nieders\u00e4chsischen Sparkassenstiftung und des Landes Niedersachsen ausgezeichnet. Im Jahr 2016 lebte er gemeinsam mit den burkinischen K\u00fcnstlern Ildevert Meda und Sada Dao im Rahmen des Artist-in-Residence Programs f\u00fcr mehrere Wochen im Operndorf Afrika.<\/p>\n

Der mit 20.000 Euro dotierte Preis ist mit einer Publikation sowie mit einer Einzelausstellung verbunden, die am 21. Oktober 2017 im Horst-Janssen-Museum in Oldenburg er\u00f6ffnen wird.<\/p>\n

Fr\u00fchere Preistr\u00e4ger des Horst-Janssen-Grafikpreises waren Ralf Ziervogel, Michael Wutz, Anna Lea Hucht, Daniel Roth und Katja Eckert. Gef\u00f6rdert werden Nachwuchsk\u00fcnstler, die wie der 1995 gestorbene Janssen auf Papier arbeiten.<\/p>\n
