{"id":11346,"date":"2021-05-07T12:21:44","date_gmt":"2021-05-07T10:21:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.operndorf-afrika.com\/?p=11346"},"modified":"2021-05-07T12:21:44","modified_gmt":"2021-05-07T10:21:44","slug":"writers-residency-of-the-goethe-institut-at-the-opera-village-africa","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.operndorf-afrika.com\/en\/writers-residency-of-the-goethe-institut-at-the-opera-village-africa\/","title":{"rendered":"Writers Residency of the Goethe Institut at the Opera Village Africa"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Next week the Opera Village Africa will be hosting three writers invited by the Goethe Institut for a short residency; these are Laelia Adjovi from Benin, Eliot Moleba from South Africa and \u00c9ric Kabr\u00e9 from Burkina Faso.<\/p>\n<p>Adjovi has been living in Dakar as a freelance journalist, photographer and writer since 2010 and is working on a book about spiritual rites that enslaved Africans preserved during their forced migration and exported to Cuba.<\/p>\n<p>A playwright and activist, Moleba lives in Johannesburg and is one of the founding members of PlayRiot, a collective of playwrights who bring contemporary South African stories to the stage. He is currently working on a play called This Is Not My Border, which addresses intra-African migration.<\/p>\n<p>Kabr\u00e9 is Burkinab\u00e9 and works as a journalist and illustrator in Ouagadougou. In his current work, he explores through drawing the role of investigative journalism in a fitful ethno-cultural conflict in the region.<\/p>\n<p>We are very pleased to be able to offer the artists time and space to explore their ideas in a concentrated way and thank the Goethe Institut for the cooperation.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Next week the Opera Village Africa will be hosting three writers invited by the Goethe Institut for a short residency;
