Thomas Zipp donates three sculptures to Operndorf Afrika
The Berlin-based artist Thomas Zipp has donated his three sculptures Medicine # 1 – # 3 to Operndorf Afrika. They will be put up for auction on 29 November 2019 at 6pm with the lot number 728 at the auction house Villa Grisebach in Berlin. With the outcome of this auction, Operndorf’s managing director Aino Laberenz will support the Artist-In-Residence Program which invites African and non-African artists to work together for 3 months at the Operndorf in Burkina Faso every year since 2015. Thomas Zipp’s commitment is due to his own participation in this Artist-In-Residence program in 2018, during which seven undergraduates of the University of the Arts worked in Burkina Faso for three months.
